Kettering Delts Turn 60!

As the GMT Chair I’ve had the opportunity to chat with several GMI Delts, and it was my great pleasure to recently speak with one of our first presiding officers, Mr. Larry V. Hough. Larry joined Gamma Mu Tau Fraternity in 1960. Sometime after GMI became an accredited engineering university, the local fraternity started considering joining a national fraternity. A search began for a fraternity that most closely matched the values and personality of Gamma Mu Tau. In the end … Read More

Check out the amazing work completed by A-section brothers to bring new life to our historic house. Eta Redone Eta had a complete rebuild. This project was completed as a new member activity for the pledge class of 2023. Our new members helped us fix the drywall, repaint, and build desks. We decided to build a desk on each wall to double the amount of spots available in Eta. The wall directly outside of Eta was also repaired and repainted, … Read More

Delt Shelter Strategy Update

In a previous note I mentioned our primary direction is to remodel the shelter as opposed to moving. This is still our direction. However there have been some recent developments. Kettering is getting more serious about their “Greek Village” concept, and other fraternities on Dupont street are seriously considering it. Trustee Jaffke and I recently met with Kettering administration, and we are now closely connected with the Phi Delts and FIJI house corps. This is an important decision, and we … Read More

GMT Selects an Architect!

The GMT Board of Trustees continues to make progress toward its vision of providing one of the best Greek shelters at Kettering. GMT and chapter representatives met with several potential architects over the past 12 months to find one that both fit our budget and our shared vision. In the end we selected FUNchitecture of Flint, Michigan to complete phase I which will include digital “as-built” drawings from the original blueprints, and creation of conceptual renderings based on our feedback. … Read More

After more than eight years of dedicated service, Jake Jenson has decided to step down as GMT President at the end of this year.  Jake got us through some rough spots with the house corporation, and we can’t thank him enough for his dedication and service to his brothers of Delta Tau Delta! We are actively looking for a Delt alumnus interested in joining the GMT leadership team.  The position that is open is actually somewhat flexible based on the … Read More
