A-Section – Winter 2023 House Improvements

posted in: A Section, House Corp

Check out the amazing work completed by A-section brothers to bring new life to our historic house.

Eta Redone

Eta had a complete rebuild. This project was completed as a new member activity for the pledge class of 2023. Our new members helped us fix the drywall, repaint, and build desks. We decided to build a desk on each wall to double the amount of spots available in Eta. The wall directly outside of Eta was also repaired and repainted, including the mural.

Xi Dorm Completed

Last term we began construction on Xi. This term we were able to complete the project by finishing the dorm area. We painted the walls purple and ceiling black to match the pong room. A new bunk bed style loft was built with a desk on the opposite wall.

Grandfather Clock and Piano repaired

Thanks to a generous donation from Alumni Trevor Hunt, the chapter was able to purchase new winding keys for the grandfather clock. All weights were reset and the clock was balanced.

New member and musical genius Jack Waker purchased a Piano tuning kit for the house and took the time to retune our Piano. He also repaired various physical damages found on the piano.

OQ Hallway painted and OQ Bathroom redone

OQ Hallway and Bathroom were both repainted. Any damages in the bathroom were also repaired: such as the broken floor drain, wall above the urinals, and the attic port.

Other work completed

  • Computer closet cleaned out and organized
  • Kitchen Deep clean and all kitchen lights replaced
  • Damaged chapter room chairs repaired
  • Breezeway radiators cleaned and covers straightened

Really good to see the house improvements. Great to see the involvement of all the brothers too! I learned so much doing improvements while in the house.
